Easter Basket Project - Just a Few Friends

Happy Easter to all and thanks for visiting our March Hop!  Just a Few Friends has been steadily working on creating and altering a easter basket! We were challanged to create our project using the following, baskets.. you could do a card, a mini album or alter a basket, as long as there is an easter basket somewhere on the project... I decided to do this cute little wood basket that i had and i wanted to give it a vintage easter feel.  Alot of the easter images i used there are easter baskets on the pictures as well.  After lots of cat naps, growling and clawing, I finally got this project done.  It was a challenge for me i must say for sure..  So here is my photos of my easter basket project for just a few friends blog hop...

Inside the wooden basket i decided to do up a few decorated tags.  I was saving this beautiful Cross charm for the right project and i thought what a better way to use it than on a easter project..

This is a close up of the box with out the tags inside

This is the cover of the tags with the charms moved to the side so it shows the easter title and image.  I love these vintage images

Grandma's Sewing room - Shadow box

So there was a challenge that i started in a group on face book called scrappy diva's.  The challenge was to do something that was outside you box and something that you always wanted to try but just were timid to ruin it or not really know what to do with.  I knew i wanted to do a sewing them, but that was as far as it went.  We had partners and my partner gave me a few challenges to add to my project.  I had to use a stencil, do some layering and use the color aqua or violet in my project. So i painted the box butter cream and then i painted on a homemade walnut stain that i made to distress it.  Once i did the brick wall stencil and saw the distress ink come through i thought it would be cool to make it vintage style like a very old fashioned room.  I ripped pieces of paper and distressed them with walnut ink and curled some of the paper, i wanted it to look as if it was wall paper that was very old and kinda peeling off the walls.  I had alot of fun making this out to look like a sewing room.  It was really fun using a bunch of little things to make it look like a room.  Thank you for stopping by and i hope you like it. HUGS

With Love - Pocket card with tags

This was inspired by viewing pinterest.  I have had this gorgeous project in my inspiration files forever, so i thought i would challenge myself and try to do the beautiful project i saw on pinterest a try.  Of course mine is no where near close to the orginal but i did give it my best.  This is made from a piece of Linen Cardstock that i cute the width to 7.5.  then with the length i left 12 inches but scored at the 5.5 mark.  folded it in half so the back would be a bit taller than the front at 6.5 to make it into a pocket to put a bunch of tags in.  the paper i used is from Pink Paisless new valentines line secret crush. I used a few pieces from Marion Smiths Line she designed for Prima, Romance novel and some scraps that i had from a recollection paper pack that had just script on it. It matched the linen cardstock so well and i wanted to keep this very neautral.  I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink on everything pretty much.  I hope you like it and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Thanks for stopping by, hugs.

Valentine THEMED GIFT BAG

Happy Valentines to all and thanks for visiting our February Hop! Just a Few Friends has been steadily working on creating and altering gift bags! We were challanged to create our project using the following colors...RED, PINK, BROWN, BLACK...we could use them all, only one or a combination of two, three...well you get the point.
This is a special Hop becaue a new Cub has joined the PRIDE !! This is her first hop and would love it if you all would show her some luv, approach her den with TLC. AND that new cub is ME, Carrie, yay...

If you arrived on my blog to soon by chance, please head on over to the beginning http://justafewdesigns.blogspot.com if you've been hopping with us...

Now lets pounce onto my project this is what I made....

I choose the brown and pink theme because i like those colors with the kraft bag and i thought it was not so traditional.  I used K&Co paper pack by Brenda Walton called maison.  I like to call all the tags on the bag my pocket full of love lol.  I painted the little hearts light pink and then added martha stewart white glitter to bling them up, as well as on my little cupid.  The key hole and key are sprayed with a home made spray that i made with vintage photo distress ink refiller, alcohol, cooper perfect pearls...

This is what the bag looks like with out the tags.  So this is what i came up with after rolling around on my flowers purring on which ones to use and of course i choose my fave WOC and IAR flowers that i love to use.

Here is the hop order:

True Love of my heart Keepsake box

I found this new line by K&CO by Brenda Walton call Maison and fell in love with it. The colors and patterns are just yummy, I have almost the whole 2 paper packs that i bought gone with projects i am working on. It was perfect for this Vintage Shabby keepsake box i wanted to do. Im addicted to browns, whites and tans lately due to a friend of mine who is in love with those colors and i did a few projects for her, Now im hooked on brown tones... The emphemera on the top of the box was the piece kit that you could get to go with the paper pack collection. I painted the whole box in a linen color and than i distress everything in walnut ink by tim holtz.. the trim around the top of the box was from Sa Crafters Zibbet shop and i have been hoarding it because it is my fave trim... the bottom rosette trim is by Websters pages. I love the big feet i put on this box and i just left them plain but i think i might distress them, not sure yet. I bought them from Michaels in the wood section.   I have had a few friends ask how i get my texture on my keyholes and other chippie pieces.  I painted them with black acrylic paint, took heat tool and made the paint bubble, then i sprayed it with brown perfect pearl mist, let is set for a sec and heat set it to bubble in and give a vintage rusty feel..  . Any who enough chatter and i hope you enjoy my vintage love box. Thanks for stopping by, hugs
